About the Author...

 

Jason K Macomson is a practicing veterinarian and former public school teacher and administrator who lives in Lavonia, Georgia.  The Refuge Trilogy are a series of Christian vampire fiction written for young adults, and they are his first published novels.  He has also written a series of books for children, and he is currently working on a novel about his experiences growing up in a local veterinary practice in Lavonia.

 

Dr. Macomson graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998, and then went on to receive teaching certification for high school science from the University of Georgia and educational leadership from North Georgia College and State University.  He taught science at Franklin County High School in Carnesville, Georgia, from 2000 - 2007, and then served as a middle school assistant principal from 2007 - 2012, before returning to full-time veterinary practice.

 

Public service is one of Dr. Macomson's passions, and he was elected to the Lavonia City Council in 2004, and the Franklin County Board of Commissioners in 2016, where he currently represents the Lavonia District.  He also served in the past on the board of the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter and the Franklin County Elections Board.

 

The author lives on a farm outside of his native Lavonia, and in his spare time, he likes to read, write, and design web sites.  He also breeds German Shorthaired pointers.
